Danny Gokey is from Milwaukee and is a music teacher and choir leader.
His wife, Sophia, had encouraged him to audition for American Idol.
27-year-old Sophia Gokey died during surgery in July 2008.
She had a congenital heart condition.
Four weeks later, Danny Gorkey auditioned for American Idol.

When it was announced that Danny Gokey had made it into the Top 12 of Season 8 of American Idol, his family members showed a picture of his wife on camera, a blatant reminder that he is a grieving widower.






The pimping of his dead wife for sympathy votes comes with his family’s consent since they themselves are doing it — and fans are not reacting kindly to it.


I like Danny Gokey. He can sing. He gives us hope.

Danny, stop your family from parading your dead wife around, and stop American Idol from doing the same.

American Idol Top 36er DISQUALIFIED!

Joanna Pacitti disqualified!

....and not because she used to be signed to A&M Records.

Singer Joanna Pacitti was disqualified from the final 36 "American Idol" contestants on Wednesday amid allegations she had close relationships with two of the show's producers!!!

SCANDALOUS!!!!!!

Joanna Pacitti, who had been dubbed "the ringer" because of her past music industry experience, has been replaced in the Final 36 with also-ran Felicia Barton.

Her "best friend" and "manager" is Michelle Young, a producer for 19 Entertainment. Roger Widynowski another producer for 19 Entertainment "helped her get where she is today."
